Reconstruction surgery to fix capsular contracture

Surgical techniques to fix capsular contracture in breast implant

After having breast implant for a few years, the patient’s breasts became disfigured, not round, stiff and painful. This is due to the accumulation of membrane around the implants. This natural reaction of human body to foreign matters causes the membrane to thicken and toughen, and ultimately leads to capsular contracture. The reconstruction procedure includes:

  • General anesthesia
  • Incision on the underside of the breasts
  • Get ride of membranes that are hard and very tough.
  • Reconstruct the cavities and insert the implants.
  • Fine tune the implants’ placement for more natural result. Close the wound.
