Cheekbone Augmentation

High cheekbones are a universal symbol of attraction and beauty across most cultures. Cheek Augmentation and Cheek implants are cosmetic surgical procedures to enhance the cheeks making your face beautiful, youthful, balanced and attractive. There are many techniques for cheek enhancement such as solid implant or injection by filler or your own fat.
Despite some differences in women's cheekbones, it is possible to alter the appearances of men's cheekbones to achieve a more feminine look. Men's cheekbones tend to be low, rectangular, and flat, whereas the softer and curvier features of women's cheekbones create glow and radiance.

There are many materials for Cheek implants surgery including:

  • Silicone
  • Gore-tex (e-PTFE)
  • Medpore
  • Alloderm
  • PMMA (Customized Implant)

  • Stop smoking and drinking alcohol for 2 weeks before the surgery and for weeks after the surgery as smoking seriously impairs healing.

Cheek Implants Procedure

The surgeon will usually make the incision in the upper mouth near the top of the gum line and slide the implants into place. Another technique is to make an external incision near the lower eye but most patients do not choose this method since it can create a visible scar. Cheek implant surgery is usually performed under sedation or general anesthetic and takes about one to two hours. The patient may stay one night at the hospital after the surgery. The recovery period is around one week.

High Cheekbones: Are they a sign of Beauty?

High cheekbones have been considered a hallmark of beauty and physical attraction for centuries, and they continue to be seen as a desirable feature today. Many people believe that high cheekbones are an indicator of good health and genetic fitness, which makes them an attractive quality in a potential partner.

The cheekbones, also known as the zygomatic bones, are a key feature of the human face. They are located at the top of the cheek and form the highest point of the cheekbones when you look at someone from the front.

‘High cheekbones are characterized by a prominent and elevated appearance, creating a sharp angle along the cheekbone. This feature is often associated with a youthful, healthy, and attractive appearance.

  • One of the reasons high cheekbones are seen as attractive is that they tend to be associated with a symmetrical face. Symmetry is considered to be an important factor in physical beauty and attraction, as it is thought to indicate good health and genetic quality. In contrast, asymmetry is often seen as a sign of poor health or genetic quality, and can be viewed as less attractive.
  • Another reason high cheekbones are seen as attractive is that they create a more defined and contoured appearance to the face. This can make a person look more confident, expressive, and dynamic, which can enhance their overall physical appearance. In addition, high cheekbones are often associated with a slim and sculpted facial structure, which can make a person look more elegant and refined.

‘In some cultures, high cheekbones are also seen as a sign of ethnic or racial beauty. For example, high cheekbones are often considered to be a desirable trait in indigenous cultures, and they are often featured prominently in traditional beauty standards.’

This has led to the creation of cosmetic procedures and treatments designed to enhance or augment the cheekbones, such as cheek fillers, cheek implants, and cheekbone contouring surgery.

In conclusion,

High cheekbones are considered to be a sign of beauty and physical attraction for many people. They are seen as a symbol of good health and genetic fitness, as well as a hallmark of symmetry, contoured facial structure, and cultural beauty. Whether or not high cheekbones are actually attractive is a matter of personal preference, but there is no denying that they continue to be seen as a desirable physical trait.
